UPDATE: Event Pivot: As nonprofits trying to exist in 2025, we have adopted the mindset of “read the room” meaning the current state of the world. Our original event on November 8, was meant to serve as a joint fundraiser for Nebraska Tribes Addressing Violence Coalition (NETAV) and Bluebird Cultural Initiative. But, in light of the suspension of SNAP benefits and because we know that so many in our community are struggling right now, we are pivoting our event to now be a FREE COMMUNITY MEAL. Bluebird and NETAV put our community first, and right now, our community needs us to serve. We want to encourage anyone and everyone to now attend this event for a FREE MEAL with choice of soup, fry bread, and dessert. Please RSVP on Eventbrite so that we have an accurate attendance count, but folks are still encouraged to show up at the door. We will still have raffle tickets that folks can purchase and we will still welcome any money donations that folks may be able to contribute to support our organizations, but we want this event to now focus more on our work and serving our missions, which is to promote safety, culture, and healing for Native folks and our tribal communities in Nebraska. So please join us in coming together and showing the beauty and strength of our community. Saturday, November 8, at 4pm at Yates Illuminates in Omaha. We’ll see you there!
