Executive Director Announced for Nebraska Tribes Addressing Violence Coalition

Nebraska Tribes Addressing Violence Coalition (NETAV) is pleased to announce the selection of Kirby Williams as the organization’s Executive Director. Williams, a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, is an accomplished and visionary leader who has extensive knowledge as a violence prevention specialist addressing violence against Native American people and tribal communities. Williams has been instrumental in this newly formed coalition’s recognition from the Office on Violence Against Women as one of twenty tribal domestic violence/sexual assault coalitions across the nation.

Executive Director, Donna Brown, of Wabanaki Women’s Coalition Receives Community Courage Award

Donna Brown, Executive Director of the Wabanaki Women’s Coalition has recently been awarded the Community Courage Award from the Maine Boys to Men organization. Donna has led the expansion of the Maine Boys to Men program into 5 tribal communities over the last three years. The introduction of these programs have helped tribal communities by reinforcing the importance of gender equality and are committed to ending male violence and self harm.
